Payment Stand
Overview
Kendall Howard was contacted by a financial institution to develop a simplified payment stand device that could be produced in high volume quickly and within a tight budget window. The stand needed to meet certain criteria for the location of the stand and production time set by the customer.
Problem
To allow customers to have unobstructed access to the chip reader and card swipe function no matter where the device was being used. The stand also needed to be produced in high volume quickly and within a tight budget window.
Solution
The stand was created that met all of the customer’s criteria, but as technology progressed, the payment devices began to include chip readers. A second and a third version of the stand was designed an introduced to the client. One stand was designed as a fixed angle which allowed customers to access both the chip reader and the swipe function. The other design is an adjustable angle stand.
